About Margaret Evans

For almost all my life I have enjoyed the company of dogs, cats, horses and ponies. I have had many experiences, good, funny and sad and I wanted to sharing these unique stories in a blog. At the same time, as a journalist with a specialty in science stories, I want to blend my stories with developments in science research that benefit our beloved pets. So enjoy!

Sammy, our golden retriever, sniffs everything. Like all dogs! Now, researchers at Cornell University have trained dogs to sniff out the egg masses of the invasive spotted lanternfly that threatens grapes, apples and hops as well as maple and walnut trees. This blog coming soon.

The relationship between dogs and cats has often been testy. But Raven, our black cat, knew how to control the two border collies in sometimes the funniest ways. More on that in an upcoming blog!

Sham, a word referring to the sun. Sham was born at sunrise.

Socks is our 12 year old cat. She has some thoughts on diabetes.
